The Richardson Wireless Klub is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. We gratefully accept monetary donations and equipment you no longer need or want. There are several ways that you can support your Klub:
Kroger Community Rewards
Do you shop at Kroger? Do you want to help support the RWK while you do so? Then we’ve got news for you! RWK is registered with Kroger Community Rewards, so a bit of your purchase can go to help the RWK.
Signing up is easy. You need a Kroger Rewards card, and then
– you log into http://www.kroger.com
– click on the little guy next to the shopping cart in the upper right corner, and
– pick ‘my account’, then
– scroll down to the bottom of the page and you’ll see “community rewards”
– search for either “The Richardson Wireless Klub” or the short code “DT398” and
– click “Enroll”.
There’s no charge, and RWK benefits. It’s much like Amazon Smile, except you don’t need to always go to a different URL, just use your Kroger Rewards card each time you purchase at Kroger, and we’ll get a bit of money every quarter.
Monetary Donations
The club can accept monetary donations via PayPal as well as personal check.
Donate via PayPal
For instant monetary donations via PayPal, please send to address donations@k5rwk.org. You may also donate directly through this link without needing a PayPal account. Be sure to select “Send to a Friend” on PayPal so we can avoid the normal transaction fees. Your transaction record is your receipt for tax deduction purposes.
Donate via Check
If by check, please mail to:
The Richardson Wireless Klub
PO Box 830232
Richardson, TX 75083-0232
A dated letter acknowledging receipt will sent back by mail.
Equipment Donations
For donations of a non-monetary nature (equipment/other) please email info@k5rwk.org for arrangements or fill out the following form:
Corporate Matching Donations
Does your corporation offer matching donations? Please consider RWK as the recipient of your corporate matching gift.
Texas Instruments
Are you a TI employee, retiree, or director and have you donated more than $25 to the RWK in 2023? If so, did you know that The TI Foundation will match your gift dollar-for-dollar? The website for registering gifts and volunteer hours is: http://getinvolved.ti.com
If you’ve never made a matching request before, you’ll have to set up your Employee ID and password. If you’ve previously set up your ID and password, then it only takes a couple of minutes to submit a request. Once you’re logged in click on “Matching Gifts & Volunteer Matching” at the top of the home page. This will take you to a page where you can click on “Matching Gifts“. On the “Matching Gifts” page, click on “Request a Match” and it will take you to the “Organization Search” page.
John AF5MN has already nominated the Richardson Wireless Klub as an eligible organization so all you need to do is enter “Richardson Wireless Klub” in the search box and select it. Once selected, just enter the gift type, gift date, and total gift amount. Make sure you check the box for “Certify & Submit” and then hit “Save and Proceed“. It’s that easy! But please don’t delay. If you’ve already donated to the RWK in 2023, then you only have until January 31, 2024 (Midnight EST), to request a match for your 2023 donation. The website is available 24/7 so you can request a match at any time. If you run into problems or if you have questions, you can contact the TI Foundation Support Desk at 855-493-9862. The Support Desk is open Monday – Friday from 8am to 8pm CST to answer any questions.
Estate and Retirement Donations
The RWK will gladly accept direct tax-free donations from your IRA, 401(k), or pension plan and we will accept equipment donations from your estate.
Consider RWK In Your Estate Planning
We will gladly accept donations of your ham equipment after you have gone to the great ham shack in the sky. We will ensure that your equipment isn’t just disposed of by non-hams and actually goes to an appreciative recipient. This eliminates the burden on your loved ones to dispose of stuff that they likely have no knowledge of. We will receive, assess, test if necessary, and find a good new ham shack home for your gear, and the proceeds will benefit the klub.
Tax relief for your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
If you are over 70½, you can arrange for a direct distribution of amounts from your IRA, 401(k), pension plan, or similar retirement plans directly to qualified charities of your choice. Distributions made in this manner are not included in your taxable income. Such distributions do not also qualify as an itemized deduction, but do qualify as part or all of your annual Required Minimum Distribution from such plans. Lowering your taxable income may save taxes on your social security income, keep you out of a higher tax bracket, and be of great benefit if you take the standard deduction instead of itemizing. There are some timing requirements and limitations; if you would like to consider this approach in making a charitable donation to The Richardson Wireless Klub, please contact your tax advisor and the RWK Treasurer for the process to accomplish this before year end.
