It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beau Williamson, N5PY (SK). Beau had been fighting an aggressive form of brain cancer for the past year and went SK on January 19, 2020.
Beau was a dedicated and involved member of the North Texas ham community, serving as Director of Mentoring and Education for RWK until very recently. In that capacity he helped many hams learn and sharpen their CW skills, earn license upgrades, and generally improve their overall technical knowledge. Beau was honored for this work with a special award at the RWK President’s Dinner on January 12, 2020, which he attended with his wife Charlene.
In addition to being a cherished RWK member, Beau had a zeal for many other hobbies and passions: he was a private pilot, Cisco Systems network guru, and others. He was a friend to many of us and will be greatly missed.
