This is one of the more popular contests in the area, due to the fairly large group of VHF/UHF enthusiasts around DFW. It’s easy to participate starting with 6 Meter activity which should be occurring at least several hours on Saturday and Sunday. Given the moisture in the atmosphere, there’s also a good chance of a 2 Meter tropo opening (be sure to check https://vhf.dxview.org/ to see).
It’s easy to participate using FT-8 and FM, and if you have a multi-mode VHF radio you can also try SSB and CW – it’s one of the best times of the year if you want to try these modes on VHF.
